Quick Links: Why Eating Real Food is So Important

If you’ve read Fast Food Nation, then you’re acquainted with Eric Schlosser. He has an op-ed in the Washington Post, and if you haven’t read it, you should (here).

He succinctly breaks down why the real food movement isn’t just for us elitist foodies—it’s the poor and disenfranchised in this country who suffer the worst. And it doesn’t stop there. The farm workers, the small farmers, the average consumer, food industry workers like meatpackers, fast food employees, children, minorities. We all suffer because of the protections afforded the large industrialized food companies.

Makes the call for all of us real foodists to band together even more pressing, doesn’t it?
